This course is structured to meet the requirements of MSHA Part 46.8 Annual Refresher training. This course is intended for the experienced miner or mine contractor that has already taken New Miner training (24 hours). You will be required to send us a copy of your most recent MSHA certificate before we can issue you a new one.

MSHA requires that your company has a training plan before receiving training. Mine Safety Campus must be added to your training plan as competent trainers for Annual Refresher. In this course, you can download an addendum page to insert into your training plan. This ensures your training plan coincides with the training you received in this course. Don't have an MSHA training plan? Contact us and we can provide one at a minimal cost. Training plans are required by MSHA and will be asked for by the MSHA inspector.

Will I Get a MSHA Certificate?

Upon completion of the course a generic certificate will be generated. This certificate is only to show completion of the course for your supervisor or Safety Representative. Once your instructor verifies you have met all the requirements, he will email you a MSHA 5000-23 training certificate. The person listed on your training plan as the person responsible for health and safety must sign your training certificate to be valid. MSHA does not allow third party trainers like us to sign training certificates under Part 46.

Is Any Additional Training Required?

If you are currently employed at a mine you are required to learn about any mine changes in the last year that affects your health and safety. This training can be conducted by mine management or safety representative. If you are a mine contractor currently working at a mine you can request this training from mine management. If there were no changes at the mine that affect your health or safety, then no additional training is required. You will learn about common mine changes in this course. Mine operators are required to train contractors on any site-specific hazards before you begin work at a mine and annually thereafter.
